What is a listing takeover?
If you have an existing Airbnb listing that you’re bringing across to Hometime for management, Hometime needs to be given full access to the account. When taking over the account, Hometime will change all login details, as well as the email, phone number and financial information associated with the account. We're still able to retain existing reviews, bookings and any other data gathered by Airbnb.
Will I have access to my Airbnb account after the takeover is complete?
To carry out a listing takeover, you must completely hand over the account. This means you won’t have access to the Airbnb account during Hometime’s management.
Why does Hometime need to change the login details?
Hometime’s official partnership with Airbnb allows us to connect our accounts and use our purpose-built management software to more efficiently optimise pricing and SEO, while also giving our hosting partners the tools to better manage your property. Without sole access, we risk compromising our connection, which could result in bookings not being synced and managed correctly. The email address must be changed to a Hometime delegated account to also make sure we're receiving crucial account-related emails from Airbnb.
Can Hometime still manage my property if they can’t take over my Airbnb account?
A listing takeover is not suited for:
- Homeowners who use their Airbnb account for personal reasons. Please note: you can create a new account to book personal trips using the same email. While you'll start fresh with zero reviews, as long as the new account is verified and has a profile photo, you shouldn’t have any issues making your first booking.
- Homeowners who have other live listings on the account that will not be managed by Hometime.
If we can't proceed with completely taking over the Airbnb account, we can't take over the listing. However, we can still manage your property, we'll just need to create a new listing from scratch on a Hometime account.
Will I still have visibility over my listing’s performance?
You'll still have visibility over all your bookings, revenue and other important information in the Homeowner Portal. Your on-the-ground Hometime host will handle all communication with your guests.
